Africa is a one-day event held in Mandela park each August. There is a mixture of live music and dancing from five artists from Zimbabwe, the UK and the US on one of the two stages and DJs performing on the second, all celebrating culture and diversity.
YK2 Ent Music and Arts Ltd approached us to provide a full festival solution.
They required stage, sound, lighting and power for the entire site.
Having over a decades experience in putting together medium scale music festivals, we were delighted to support this exciting cultural event.
We held an initial production meeting and then provided YK2 with a full proposal helping them to understand how we deliver this type of event.
Sound Design
As the audience space was not uniform so we needed to design an audio system to provide a wide coverage. We supplied Martin Audio WPS and WPC line arrays with two main hangs and two delay towers. The system was designed to minimise audio spill into the surrounding residential area.
Lighting Design
Our lighting designers created a fantastic lighting show using Chamsys Visualiser. We supplied a range of moving heads, blinders, LED battens and LED Pars to create the perfect lighting solution.
