Marketing & Social Media Intern

Job Description

Summary

This marketing internship is an excellent opportunity to build industry experience in Digital and Media Marketing. Hire Frequencies Ltd is an established business based in North London, who provide AV solutions and equipment rentals to London and the South of England. Our work includes anything from music festivals and live music events to conferencing, awards dinners and fashion shows. We are offering an internship to give someone valuable industry skills and experience with content writing, marketing strategy, social media development and audience engagement.

Role Profile

You will be part of the marketing and website development team and will be given tasks in marketing, customer communications, website development and social media campaign management.

  • Mailchimp email marketing & Facebook campaign and posts management
  • Emailing venues and potential clients with marketing material
  • Managing existing clients and managing feedback from previous events
  • Work on our marketing plan for new and existing clients
  • Support with website content development & SEO strategy
  • Admin – answering the phone, and supporting the events team

Key skills / Requirements

  • Presentable, polite. well-mannered and well groomed. You must have good communication and client-facing skills as you may be operating in a corporate environment.
  • Understands the flexible nature of the events industry and that they will need to occasionally work unsociable hours.
  • Is fluent in English – both spoken and written
  • Is a team player who is able to operate calmly under pressure
  • We are looking for a self-motivated person who is passionate about digital marketing and is keen to learn
  • Is PC literate with an excellent understanding of PowerPoint and who has experience with both Mac and Windows operation systems.

Bookings Team Sound And AV Tech Advisor Internship

Job Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity that will help you gain work experience and kick-start your career in the Audio Visual industry. Hire Frequencies Ltd is an established business based in Bounds Green, North London. We provide Audio Visual solutions and supply equipment rentals to London and the South of England. Our work includes anything from music festivals and live music events to conferencing, awards dinners and fashion shows, so you will gain experience at a wide range of events and learn a broad range of disciplines.

This internship would suit highly energetic individuals who are happy to get involved with the day to day running of a busy hire company. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to train up in our bookings team on a part-time basis. Our bookings team are at the heart of our organisation and deal with 100’s of enquiries each week. We deal with a wide range of clients, from individuals who want to hire a pair of speakers to large companies who require sound systems and AV equipment for corporate events. The role will be working within the team to ensure all enquiries are dealt with in a professional manner, to create quotes and invoices using our hire software and work with each client to ensure they get great service right through to the end of their hire period. An understanding of sound, AV or lighting is essential.

The successful candidate will be someone who is:

Highly organised, who can plan workload and schedule multiple tasks

Comfortable working with computers, using word/excel and using the web

Enjoys speaking to customers and understands how to give great serviceAble to work under pressure at times

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Fluent in English, spoken and written

Warehouse Technician Internship

Job Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity that will help you gain work experience and kick-start your career in the Sound, Lighting and Audio Visual industry. Hire Frequencies Ltd is an established business based in Bounds Green, North London. We provide Audio Visual solutions and equipment rental services to London and the South of England. Our work includes anything from music festivals and live music events to conferencing, awards dinners and fashion shows, so you will gain experience at a wide range of events and learn a broad range of disciplines.

This internship would suit highly energetic individuals who are happy to get involved with the day to day running of a busy hire company. You will be part of the warehouse team and will be given tasks in equipment maintenance, sound and lighting desk programming, sound system and amplifier preparation, building racks, organising equipment and testing returned equipment. On occasions you will also have the opportunity to set up equipment at events, working with our production team and providing sound engineering services. A good understanding of sound and lighting systems is an advantage and it would suit college students or graduates who would like to gain industry experience.

Successful candidates will be highly motivated, take pride in their work, and enjoy working independently and as part of a team. Our internship program runs for 6-12 months and successful candidates will be required to work at least 2 days a week for the duration of the program.

Sound & Audio Visual Project Manager - Live Events

Job Description

The Role

Based in North London, this is a very exciting opportunity to work with a highly motivated team of managers helping our clients bring their events to life using sound, lighting and AV technologies at venues across the UK. This is an important role that provides the connection between our client’s requirements and our technical team with responsibility for the planning and on-site delivery of a variety of events to ensure the smooth delivery of projects. Ultimately, your success will be demonstrated by successful execution and creation of fantastic looking events.

You may currently be working as a sound, lighting or AV project manager in live events or as a senior technician looking to make the next move in your career. This role requires a technical background, with an all-round knowledge of using AV equipment in a wide range of environments, including corporate events, live music and large-scale productions. Experience of working within event and exhibition venues is essential.

Duties

Managing and overseeing sound, lighting and AV installations at events and shows, and taking responsibility for their implementation on site and subsequent safe removal

Advising on more complex technical elements of live events

Producing technical schematics, floor plans and visuals

Engaging in client and project development processes and assisting with pitching for new business

Calculating and planning manpower and logistics including technical crew, other crew, teams and vehicles

Core Attributes/Skills

We would expect you to have:

Previous extensive experience as an event sound, lighting or AV technician is essential. This might be as an employee of an events AV company, within a venue or as a freelance technician

AV project management or logistics experience in live events is essential. Note that live events experience is absolutely essential and so project management experience in other sectors is of little value unless you have experience delivering projects in live events

Good written and verbal communication

A good level of numeracy and excellent attention to detail

Very good IT skills including being competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Qualifications

  • A Levels and a degree in a technical subject (or equivalent)
  • GCSE Mathematics (pass)

Character Traits

You will have a strong interest in sound, lighting or AV technologies and a drive to expand your personal skillset to learn more about technology for events. You will also be ambitious and keen to develop client facing and personal skills with a view to supporting the growth of our company through winning new clients. The role will suit someone with these traits who is committed to providing a consistently high level of customer service every day of the week.

Hire Frequencies is a young but established Audio Visual Solutions and Equipment Rentals company. Our work spans a large cross section of the events industry and we provide equipment and services at company events, awards dinners, government events, film shoots, fashion shows, art exhibitions, launch parties, live music concerts, music festivals, sporting events and much more. We are passionate about sound, lighting and video and pride ourselves with providing outstanding service at every event, working closely with each client to build relationships to ensure we exceed their expectations. We have built an incredible reputation in the industry and this year we will carry out over 300 events and over 1000 dry hires.

Although our company is fairly small we are growing rapidly, and we are focussed on continuing this growth and to expand our operations and customer base across the UK and into Europe. Our team works hard but we are constantly rewarded with outstanding feedback which motivates us to keep improving and moving forward into bigger and better events!
